Dr Majeed Khader

Director / Senior Consultant Psychologist
Home Team Behavioural Sciences Centre

Majeed KHADER is the Chief Psychologist of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA),
Singapore, and concurrently Director of the Home Team Behavioural Sciences Centre
(HTBSC). A trained hostage negotiator, his previous duties include being the Chief
Psychologist, Deputy Commander and Head Training with the police negotiation unit. He
teaches criminal psychology as an Assistant Professor (Adjunct) at the School of Social
Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

For the past 26 years, Majeed has overseen the development of psychological services in
the areas of stress, terrorism, resilience, employee selection, deception psychology,
leadership, crisis negotiations, crime profiling, and crisis psychology. For his work, he was
awarded the National Day Public Administration Award (Bronze) in 2006 by the President of
Singapore, and once again, the Public Administration Award (Silver) in 2014.

Majeed has been invited as a speaker to organisations in Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan,
Canada, Hong Kong, the U.K., and the U.S. to share on crime psychology, terrorism, and
leadership. He has also presented at the FBI, NCIS, and the RCMP. He has been the
Chairman of the Asian Conference of Criminal and Operations Psychology thrice. He is the
Asian Director of the U.S.-based Society of Police and Criminal Psychology (SPCP), and a
member of the Asia Pacific Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. He is an active
volunteer and advisor in several special needs institutions in Singapore.

Stephen Lew

Founder/ Executive Director

Stephen Lew is the Founder and Executive Director of The School of Positive Psychology (TSPP), a Singapore-based higher education institute that offers psychological centric training programmes for professional and corporate development. Since 2007, TSPP has trained more than 15,000 students and more than 500 organisations, and expanded its corporate training services to Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan.

 

An expert in the field of positive psychology with 17 years of experience in the higher education and training industry, Stephen has been interviewed and featured by Singapore medias such as Channel News Asia, 938NOW, The Straits Times, Harper’s Bazaar, and 8 Days about positive psychology-related topics. He is regularly invited to speak at events: he was a panelist at the “Give the Gift of Happiness – Restore a Smile” conference organised by Nestle in support of Operation Smile children’s charity in 2012; a presenter at the “Innerpositiveness” conference organised by HR Net and TSPP in 2011. Stephen’s growing public profile has also led to him being selected to be featured in the ‘Think Big Case Study – The Psychology of Entrepreneurs’ by Canon in 2012. In March 2014, Stephen was invited as a topic expert to speak about happiness in Singapore for Coca Cola’s “Movement is Happiness” initiative. From 2014 to 2018, he went on radio on 938LIVE to share topics in positive psychology for personal and professional development. In 2018, he was featured in exclusive interviews on Asian Entrepreneur and CEO library.

 

A strong believer in giving back to society, Stephen actively volunteers his personal time for community projects; be it giving talks to community and religious groups, or providing pro-bono psychology training to welfare organisations. Stephen holds a MSc Applied Positive Psychology with a focus in Organisational Psychology and Leadership. He is also a certified psychotherapist, clinical hypnotherapist, supervisor, and a fellow with the National Council of Psychotherapists in the United Kingdom. As a psychotherapist and a positive psychology coach, Stephen has worked with more than 800 clients in the areas of wellbeing development.

Jeslyn Lim

Managing Director of Mind Culture
Co-founder of Thrive Psychology Clinic
President of Association of Psychotherapy and Counsellors Singapore

Jeslyn is the Managing Director of Mind Culture and Co-founder of Thrive Psychology Clinic. She is a certified practitioner of Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) and a member of Association for IEMT Practitioner. Jeslyn is the current President of Association of Psychotherapy and Counsellors Singapore (APACS) as well as full member of Singapore Psychological Society (SPS). With extensive experience working in the service and education sectors, she had attained vast opportunities to work with disadvantaged and disenfranchised children, youth, as well as adults (with specialty in the psychological dysfunction, intellectually disabled individuals and their families).

Alongside with Advance Certification in Training and Assessment (ACTA), Jeslyn lectures in institutions and is currently providing psychological services in the National University Hospital (NUH) and Jurong Community Hospital for staff wellness. As a psychologist and a hypnotherapist, she took charge of clinical assessment and program, individual behavioural plan (IBP) development, clinical supervision and clinical meetings with parents. With experience in behavioural and language intervention (trained in ABLLS™‐R, ABA & VB techniques/ physiology) and alongside with hypnotherapeutic work, she is National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) Certified with an Advanced Certification In 5-PATH®, as well as a 7th PATH Self-Hypnosis Teacher.

Jeslyn works closely with clients in achieving individualised learning goals progressively. Apart from her work experience in the social service industry, Jeslyn also spent years in the private sectors in management level, ensuring employees’ well-being by performing conflict resolution, and providing counselling services. This further fortified her skills in dealing with clients regarding matters of safety, crisis, and restorative management. She developed therapeutic interventions to promote motivation and heighten work morale as well as work ethics. Additionally, Jeslyn is experienced in the medical sector as a senior surgical operating assistant, dealing with patients and cases that included financial hardship, phobias, and socio-emotional needs.

Faridah Ali Chang

Principal Trainer and Consultant, RCTC
Rainbow Centre, SIngapore

Faridah is the principal trainer and consultant for Rainbow Centre Training & Consultancy
(RCTC), with more than 20 years of experience in the area of Special Needs. She shares her experience as a teacher and a psychologist in the Early Intervention and Special Education with educator, parent and professional trainees. She is also an experienced speaker on specific disability topics and regularly presents to the public, medical organisations and tertiary institutions in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.
Faridah is trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach for children with Dyslexia, the Treatment
and Education of Autistic and Related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH,
Level 1), and is a certified ADI-R and MBTI practitioner. She completed her graduate
research on the Quality of Life of Adults with Multiple Disabilities and their Parents, and
holds a Master of Arts (by Research) from the National Institute of Education.
